Kooyong Classic Returns After a One-year Hiatus, Announces Long-Term Media Partnerships

The iconic Kooyong Classic has announced its first media partnerships with GRUP MEDIAPRO and a free-to-air broadcast deal with SBS, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for this prestigious event.

The Kooyong Classic is making a grand return, bringing world-class tennis back to Melbourne after a one-year hiatus.

As a long-standing fixture on the summer tennis calendar, the tournament is set to reignite excitement amongst fans and players alike, reaffirming its reputation as a premier lead-up event to the Australian Open.

The Kooyong Classic will return to the historic Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club in Melbourne from 13-15 January 2026, showcasing an exciting lineup of international tennis stars.

Tournament Director Peter Johnston said that there is a real sense of excitement about the tournament’s return.

“Fans have missed it, and this is an opportunity to reinvigorate the event while staying true to its tradition.”

These long-term partnerships aim to expand the tournament’s global reach, elevate fan experience, expand digital content, and innovate marketing initiatives.

As part of the partnership with SBS, Australian audiences will enjoy nearly 20 hours of free-to-air coverage across TV and digital platforms."

This expanded coverage ensures that tennis fans across the nation can enjoy world-class action from the Kooyong Classic like never before.

“We are building new collaborations with some fantastic brands, ensuring the tournament’s continued growth and success,” Johnston said.

The partnership with GRUP MEDIAPRO will give fans access to exclusive behind-the-scenes, interactive features and enhanced live streaming.

Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club is regarded as the spiritual home of tennis in Australia, having once hosted both the Australian Open and the iconic Davis Cup ties.
