Khachanov and Eala Crowned 2026 Kooyong Classic Champions

Khachanov was awarded the Lew Hoad Memorial Trophy after defeating World No. 31 Frances Tiafoe in a high-quality match, adding his name to a distinguished honour roll of past Kooyong Classic champions that includes Jannik Sinner, Sir Andy Murray, Roger Federer and Andre Agassi.

Eala claimed the newly created Evonne Goolagong Cawley Trophy with a composed and impressive victory over Donna Vekić, joining a distinguished roll of women’s champions at Kooyong that includes Mirra Andreeva, Peng Shuai and Belinda Bencic. Buoyed by a historic turnout from the Filipino community, Eala’s presence marked one of the defining moments of the 2026 Kooyong Classic.

Tournament Director Peter Johnston praised Eala’s impact both on and off the court, “Alexandra is an amazing young star who has burst onto the scene,” Johnston said. “The support from the Filipino community was incredible, and we were thrilled to welcome her to the Kooyong Classic as she builds toward what looks to be a huge year ahead. With Khachanov and Eala, we have two great winners this year.”
